Brave Student Turns Substitute Teacher In

Winston-Salem Forsyth County School administrators say student knew who to turn to with information about a substitute teacher.

Winston-Salem, NC -- A former substitute teacher remains in jail charged with taking indecent liberties with two different students.

Winston-Salem Forsyth County School administrators say a brave student made them aware of the alleged sex crimes.

Investigators say Hubert Crosby took advantage of the students at his home.

The crimes allegedly continued against the first male student victim for four years during the time he attended Mount Tabor and Reynolds High School.

Court records show Crosby substitute taught at both schools.

But it wasn't until last month that school administrators knew to step in.

They say a second male student at Reynolds High School became Crosby's next victim.

According to school spokesperson, Doug Hinson, another student trusted a teacher with that information during their spring break.

"And I think it does speak well for the student, for the teacher and for the school that everything worked out as it should work. It's unfortunate that it happened but we're glad that the student had the faith to turn to a teacher and the teacher certainly did the right thing."

Investigators worry there may be more victims out there.

But they say since Crosby's arrest, no new victims have come forward.
